You are free to disagree with me as this is just my opinion.Steven Universe has consistently produced incredible episodes, some of which rank higher than others when it comes to plot, execution, and world-building. And that sense of inferiority towards her made her bitter towards Greg.īut after the events of the night of Maximum Capacity, she may have forgiven him after Steven's speech about letting go of the past. She thought if Rose was the one watching with Greg, then he wouldn't hesitate shuting the world out just to be with Rose, and if Greg was with Amethyst, he wouldn't hesitate abandoning her just to be with someone else. Amethyst may have had feelings for Greg or she felt hurt that she has little value to him than he had for Rose. " You'd stay for her" says a lot as well. She became angry because he would abandon her again. She snapped when Greg actually showed care for other people and thought again he was belittling her presence, when Greg wanted to stop watching the series to be with his son. She thought that he not only took Rose away from them but also their friendship they used to share. She thought that Greg was selfish, only thinking about himself and not others. Her actions towards him were very uneeded because Greg loved Rose very much, and she was just playing with it. Rubbing salt on the wound, Amethyst saw that Greg not ony belittled their friendship but also took away the woman Gem that she held up so high.Īnd she blamed Greg. The Gem that saved her, the one that gave her new hope in her life, the one that saved her from a life of being bad, the one she considered a friend, was gone. It caused many repercussions but Amethyst probably took the hardest hit. But one day, Rose fell in love with Greg and started seeing him, and Amethyst felt alone again.Īnd one day * poof*, Rose was gone. ![]() They were practically always together, the Crystal Gems were as one. She saw Rose as her saviour, as her true friend, as in On the Run, she thought that Garnet and Pearl were embarassed by Amythest because of her origins, that wasn't the case but that's what she thought and that Rose was the only who actually saw value in her, in spite of her origins. She wasn't jealous of Rose, on the contrary, she idolized Rose. ![]() ![]() We now see slightly Amethyst's real form. Her quote: " Well, what about me, huh? I had someone who was there for me until she started hanging out with you!". " may indicate that Amethyst confronted Greg about his relationship with Rose but Amethyst, being the type of person she is, probably took it too far and probably ended or stifled their friendship. Greg's quote: " I wanna be friends again, I really do! But I can't let you do this to me again. This was probably the time Greg and Rose fell in love. This would indicate that Amethyst and Greg were really close at one point in time. Pearl said that Amethyst and Greg would be gone for days. Initially, I thought Amethyst had repressed romantic feelings towards Greg and was slightly jealous of Rose's and Greg's relationship, but I see now that this isn't the case.
